WHITE, YELLOW, RED, BLACK - MUSIC AGAINST RACISM
16 October 2010
The special release of the extraordinary music album entitled ‘White, Yellow, Red, Black. Music Against Racism’ by the Polish rock band Qulturka is a highlight of this year’s Football Against Racism in Europe Action Week.
The record consists of two parts. The first part was released on CD on 15 October. The second part is available for free download from the ‘NEVER AGAIN’ Association’s website (www.nigdywiecej.org). At the same time, the band members ask those who download the music to support an appeal to the popular auction site Allegro, demanding a stop to its sales of neo-nazi and racist propaganda materials. Both parts open with the hit track ‘Teraz!’ (Right Now!).
Members of the Qulturka band have been strongly involved in anti-fascist activity. For about 10 years they have participated in the annual Anti-Racist Football Championship of Poland, organised by the ‘NEVER AGAIN’ Association under the slogan ‘Let's Kick Racism Out of the Stadiums’ as part of the Polish Woodstock festival.
The CD was released jointly by the ‘NEVER AGAIN’ Association and the record company ‘Zima’. A special concert promoting the anti-racist album by Qulturka took place on 15 October. It inaugurated the FARE Action Week events in Poland.
The ‘NEVER AGAIN’ Association is an independent anti-fascist organization established in 1996. It runs the ‘Let’s Kick Racism out of the Stadiums’ campaign. Since 2009, the Association has coordinated the FARE East European Development Project supported by UEFA in the lead up to EURO 2012 in Poland and Ukraine.
